Sauvignon Blanc 2021

NZ$25.00
Sold Out

This Sauvignon Blanc gives you the experience of pineapple, grapefruit and some herbaceous notes. An elegant style of wine with the right refreshing crispness versus barrel influence and fruit. The lively acidity level is the true backbone in this wine. The colour is pale yellow and a bit cloudy. It has a great depth and length and will even improve over the next years.

The grapes for this wine are growing in the River Block, one of the stoniest blocks of the Brêloft vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. The rows are West-East orientated which means the bunches facing South are exposed to the morning sun which gives us the sexy green flavours. The bunches facing North are exposed to the hotter afternoon sun which gives us ripe and intense flavours. In the winery, the juice was cold settled overnight, and the alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. When the fermenting finished, we racked the wine into old French barrels for 6 months. We decided not to filter the wine before bottling so we kept all the goodies together.
